New Rhythm & Lead guitar player: Eric Lambert 

Eric Lambert is a 3-time Chicago Music Award winner, a Strings & Sol Festival (Mexico) Guitar Champion, and a RockyGrass (CO) new band winner as a member of Henhouse Prowlers. He has played, educated, recorded and toured internationally with artists as diverse as the Henhouse Prowlers, Valerie Smith and Liberty Pike, Heartsfield, Tim Grimm, Katheryn Rondeau and Big Shoulders in a career that has spanned over 50 years. His latest recording “Beat the Odds” peaked at #8 on the Folk Alliance International DJ Chart in 2021 and was named one of the top releases by the “Back Porch” radio show on WVPE public radio as well as the Best Regional release of the year by the Times of Northwest Indiana. Eric now brings his talents to the Soul and R&B sounds of Southtown Soul & Groove.

Featuring Dave Tyler on Bass Guitar 

As the one of the newest member of the band, David is a well rounded bassist with experience in multiple musical  genres which include, rock, r&b, country, soul, jazz and blues. He has performed with both novice and professional musicians in local and national venues. David has also recorded in audio and television sessions. Now his musical journey continues with Southtown Soul & Groove.

Our Fabulous Female Lead Vocalist: Jeanie Delascasas 

Southtown Soul & Groove now features the dynamic Jeanie Delascasas on lead Female Vocals. Chicago native Jeanie discovered her passion for singing at the age of 15. By 17, she was performing with a blues band in her hometown. At 19, she relocated to San Francisco, where she continued to pursue her musical career. Her journey took an exciting turn when she joined the Navy, allowing her to perform with a band while stationed in Italy. Over the years, Jeanie showcased her talent with notable groups such as the Uptown Dance Band and the P-Funk Parliament Band. In November 2024, she became the lead female vocalist for Southtown Soul & Groove, performing songs from Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner, Gladys Knight and many more, solidifying her place in the music scene.

Meet Our Newest Member: Steve Wunder 

Meet the newest member of Southtown Soul & Groove: STEVE WUNDER: Alto, Tenor, Baritone Saxophones, Flute, Clarinet

Steve Wunder, from Bradley, Illinois performs as a Saxophonist in Kankakee, Northwest Indiana and the Chicago area.  He predominantly plays saxophones, also doubling on flute, clarinet and singing lead or background vocals.  His styles include Jazz, Swing, Fusion, Latin, Classical, Blues and Rock music.  He holds a Master's degree in Education and Bachelor's in Science from Eastern Illinois University where he majored in Technology, Music Education and Counseling.  At EIU he played in and toured with multiple ensembles as a featured tenor or alto saxophonist while also performing.  Steve has played music continuously since high school, but exclusively since retiring from his job as a school counselor.

​Steve currently plays regularly with; Del Bergeson's Swing Orchestra, Doug Horn's Rhythm Maker Big Band, The Calumet Band, Kankakee Silhouettes, Steve Anthony's Dance Orchestra, Jazz Times Big Band and now a proud member of Southtown Soul & Groove. 

Jonny Cab's Performance on Friday, March 28th 

Boy we sure had a great time and crowd at our first performance at Jonny Cab's in BurrRidge. This is a great place to eat, drink and listen and dance to live music.  Thanks to all who were there.  We had a blast and hope to be back soon.

Hey Fans, 

We will be performing at Crete Country Christmas on Saturday, December 7th.  Showtime will be after the parade. approximately 6:45pm in teh big tent.  For an evening of good food, drink and great Soul R&B music, stop by.  We look forward to seeing you there.

The Crowd and the Band were HOT on Friday Night! 

Southtown Soul & Groove had the crowd Rockin and Dancin all night long on Friday night. The place was packed and the energy was high. We are looking forward to returning to Smokey Jo's on Saturday, June 22nd with Showtime at 8:30pm.  Hope to see you there.
